Will.i.Am reveals why he thinks The Voice hasn't produced a superstar yet

Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.Am has given his opinion on why winners of The Voice haven't gone on to be super successful.

Speaking to Digital Spy recently, he explained that song choices tend to be less than ideal where the show's contestants are concerned and he thinks that can really make or break an artist: “I think it boils down to song choice and that’s one of the real reasons why we haven’t seen a superstar from the show, because the songs that they’ve been singing have been like, ‘Whatever'."

He went onto add that having Polydor's support on the show will be great because the label is well-respected and knows what it's doing:

“And that’s one of the reasons why I really feel Polydor in the mix is going to help change that because getting the right songs for the artist is important. That’s the care and attention that Polydor put into this scenario that this show has been missing, so I’m really, really excited that we have great partners that are going to help bring a star.”
