Will.i.am to return to school for computer science course

Will.i.am has revealed that he is planning on heading back to school in 2013 to study computer science.

The Black Eyed Peas man is no stranger to technology, having previously worked in conjunction with computer hardware giants Intel.

Speaking to the Mirror, will.i.am revealed that he wants to take his computing knowledge to the next level and spoke out in praise of computer programmers.

He even went as far to say that computer programmers are his idols in life, not musicians. He said:

"Next year I am going to school to take a computer science course. When I am 57 I still want to be relevant in popular culture and the way to be relevant within popular culture in the future is writing code. Code writers, they are my idols. Songwriters are cool – I can write songs, too – and bloggers are cool but code writers? Those are the coolest in the world."

The Voice UK coach continued: "When I was 17 I had a dream and all the dreams I have had since 17 I have done them beyond what I thought I was ever going to do. So now I want to go back to school and learn how to write code so I can participate in this whole new era that we are in. Writing songs is dope but writing code is better."

He's not the first music star recently to reveal a desire to hit the books, with Drake previously confirming that he is spending the summer finishing off high school.
