Will.i.am beams new single from Mars

Will.i.am has seen his new single broadcast across the universe.

The creative singer teamed up yesterday (August 28) with NASA to beam his new song 'Reach For The Stars' from Mars to Earth.

The track travelled over 300 million miles from NASA's Curiosity rover on Mars to their Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California.

Will.i.am attended the playback with a group of eager students, who watched on in awe at the first-of-a-kind event.

NASA administrator Charles Boden said at the playback:

"Mars has always fascinated us, and the things Curiosity tells us about it will help us learn about whether or not life was possible there. And what future human explorers can expect. Will.i.am has provided the first song on our playlist of Mars exploration."
