Will Young reveals he may put pop career on hold

Will Young has revealed he is likely to put his pop music career on hold in order to pursue various other side projects.

The 33-year-old, whose new single, ‘Losing Myself,’ was released this week, told Digital Spy that he would like to concentrate on acting and writing once the promotion for his current album, 'Echoes,' has come to an end.

Asked when any new material may surface, Young replied: "I think it'll be a long time. If I'm doing some theatre, which I still don't know, then that would take me at least to the middle of next year. I want to do a bit of writing. But then I probably won't have the time."

The ‘Jealousy’ star, who has previously appeared in the likes of Mrs Henderson Presents and Bedlam, also revealed details about an autobiography he is planning to publish in the near future:

“It's not like a biog like 'when I was 4 I fell off a table' - it's more, sort of, funny stories, I guess. And sad stories. I'm quite enjoying it. It's just a really silly, funny job. Lots of very funny things happen."

However, the original Pop Idol did suggest that he may head back into the studio to record something rather different from his usual output - a classical album:

“I need to find the producer for that, that's the key for it. It's sort of turning into something. I know what will happen, I'll start it and it'll probably end up being the next friggin' album. It will start as this little project and it'll become something experimental."
