Tu Fawning play London next week! Stream Hauschka remix

With their stunning and dramatic second album ‘A Monument’ recently released on City Slang, Portland’s Tu Fawning make their first London live appearance this year, playing at Cargo on Tues May 29th.

Led by Corrina Repp’s smoky, warm Beth-Gibbons-meets-Karen-Carpenter vocals and the powerful multi-instrumentation provided by her partner, Menomena’s Joe Haege, Liza Rietz and Toussaint Perraultare, the trail this foursome are blazing for themselves right now is the one of a band that doesn't fit any genre labels. It’s a rocky pathway only to be mastered by the unique, the adventurous and the skilled, with the jewel in their crown undoubtedly being their powerful and moving live shows.

Tu Fawning have also uploaded a stream of the Hauschka remix of the album’s lead single ‘Anchor’, released as the b-side to their Record Store Day 7” release.‘Anchor’ is a crystalline pop gem… a dark opal, reflecting a whole spectrum of colours upon its dark body. Though we generally agree "all that glitters isn't gold", this is the true exception and this remix by German pianist & composer Hauschka pushes the track to a new and even eerier level.

Tu Fawning will be back in the Autumn for a full UK tour, but in the meantime catch them at London’s Cargo next Tuesday May 29th.
