You Me At Six usurp Little Mix at top of UK albums chart

You Me At Six have knocked Little Mix off the top of the UK albums chart with their latest effort 'Night People'.

The Official Charts Company confirmed on Monday (January 9) that the record is 1,800 units ahead of Little Mix's 'Glory Days', which previously sat at No.1.

If You Me At Six stay strong at the top of the pile come Friday (January 13), they will have bagged their second consecutive No.1 album. They also reached the top with their 'Cavalier Youth' in 2014.

Little Mix are No.2 on the midweek update, while Pete Tong's 'Classic House' falls one spot to No.3. George Michael's 'Ladies & Gentlemen' rises from No.11 to No.4 following his death on Christmas Day. Rounding off the top five is David Bowie's 'Legacy'.

Ed Sheeran's 2014 album 'x' meanwhile has risen 31 spots to No.16. His two new tracks 'Castle On The Hill' and 'Shape of You' are on course to make a new UK singles chart record this week.
