Zayn Malik has confirmed that his debut single 'Pillow Talk' is about sex.

The singer announced at the weekend that he would be unleashing the track on Friday (January 29).

Speaking to the Sunday Times' Culture magazine, the Brit said that the song discusses something that "has to be talked about".

Malik said: "I think I'm pretty black and white what it's about.

"Everybody has sex, and it's something people wanna hear about.

"It's part of everybody's life and it's a very big part of life! And you don't wanna sweep it under the carpet. It has to be talked about."

Malik is expected to release his first album - potentially called 'Befour' - later this year.

The singer signed his first solo deal with RCA Records in 2015 after leaving One Direction.
