Zayn Malik says releasing album one year after 1D departure is coincidental

Zayn Malik says there is no significance in the release date of his debut album, which is exactly one year after he quit One Direction.

The singer revealed he was leaving the boyband on March 25 last year.

However, his maiden record 'Mind of Mine' will be released on the same date this year.

Malik told Zach Sang & The Gang that it is just a coincidence.

The singer said: "I don’t know, is that how it works out? It’s March 25, it wasn’t planned that way.

"It works that way. It just seems to coincide with the iTunes launch and everything. Maybe it’s a sign."

Malik so far has released the track 'Pillowtalk' from the album, which is expected to top charts across the globe.
