Zayn Malik is expected to challenge for the No.1 spot on the US singles chart.

The singer released his debut solo single 'Pillowtalk' on Friday (January 29).

Billboard report that the track could reach No.1 on their Hot 100 list.

It reckons that Malik's tune will shift around 250,000 downloads in its first week on sale.

Its chart rival - Drake's 'Summer Sixteen' - could rack up 210,000-220,000 downloads.

Malik's track has also bagged a total of 17 million streams in the US in its first five days.

The former One Direction man is also expected to top the UK singles chart today (February 5).
