Zayn: 'Lots of situations I ended up in were quite sexual'

Solo singer Zayn Malik has revealed that the sexual nature of his debut album wasn't intentional.

Speaking to Paper magazine recently, the 'Like I Would' sensation admitted that he didn't sit down with the intention of writing a hyper-sexualised album, but his solo songs are much steamier than his fans were used to:

"It wasn't a conscious decision to make [the album] sexual or refer to sex, but I just found out that a lot of situations that I was in were quite sexual situations -- all of the time. I enjoyed singing about [sex], clearly."

Malik, meanwhile, also opened up about having his appearance controlled when he was part of One Direction, adding: "Facial hair was a weird thing. I think it's 'cause I just looked old. And they didn't like that. [And] I always wanted a beard!"
