Zayn unveils merchandise line: 'It's clothes I would want to wear'

Zayn Malik has revealed a number of new fashion-themed merchandise products.

The singer launched on Monday (June 27) a series of new items, from t-shirts to hoodies.

The Brit worked with illustrator Mark Wilkinson on the project, who has previously collaborated with Iron Maiden.

As a result, some of the items channel rock and metal t-shirts from the 1970s and 80s.

Malik told Vogue: "Working with Mark gave me a license to do something exciting conceptually with a lot of color and detail.

"The art we created gives a nod to the vintage rock-band T-shirts but with my own concept."

Also available are items with Urdu script written on them.

The singer said: "My family is from Pakistan, so having artwork in Urdu has huge significance to me."

Malik added: "Everything was created with the idea that this is something I would want to wear.

"I wanted to approach this as an opportunity to extend my ideas as an artist, and to give fans another facet of who I am."
