Zayn Malik is set to co-produce an NBC television drama about life in a boyband and possibly contribute to the show’s music, after the success of his debut solo album ‘Mind Of Mine’.

The 'Pillowtalk' hitmaker will co-produce Boys with the veteran TV producer Dick Wolf and his wife Noelle.

Noelle said: “We were intrigued by the synergistic potential Zayn brings to the project.

"Casting and original music will be major components, giving the show's promotional potential on multiple levels.”

Dick Wolf has won several Emmys and was the creator of Law And Order, which was the longest-running crime drama on American primetime television.

The American network president Jennifer Salke said: “Zayn certainly brings an authentic point of view to this world, where kids are catapulted into fame at a dizzying speed. On top of our excitement around the creative ideas being discussed, we have a lot of respect for the musical and digital ambitions behind the project.”
