Adam Lambert hailed as one of the 3 greatest vocalists by Meat Loaf

Iconic rock singer Meat Loaf has praised the vocal ability of 'Whataya Want From Me' superstar Adam Lambert and confessed he is "jealous" of the young singer's talent.

In a new interview with ITV's Daybreak (February 29), the 'Bat Out Of Hell' hitmaker explained that there are only 3 vocalists in his opinion who can do the "overdrive" technique and named Lambert as one of them:

"There's only 3 singers that I've ever thought in life that have this ability to do what is called an 'overdrive'. One is Aretha (Franklin), one is Whitney (Houston) and there's a singer named Adam Lambert - a young kid - that has this overdrive, and I'm really jealous of those people."

Lambert's incredible range and control was also noticed by the legendary band Queen last year, who recruited him for a special one-off performance at the MTV EMAs as their frontman for the evening.

Following his phenomenal set with the group back in November, he has since confirmed that they will reunite for an exclusive slot at the UK's Sonisphere festival this summer.

Queen + Adam Lambert Will Rock Moscow

Having last week announced a special one-off UK concert performing with Adam Lambert at the Sonisphere Festival, Knebworth on July 7, legendary rock band Queen has announced it will play an additional earlier date with the singer when Queen and Lambert appear at Moscow’s Olympic Arena on June 30th.

These two shows are the only concerts presently planned for Queen and Lambert in 2012.

Queen band members Brian May and Roger Taylor met Lambert during the finals of American Idol Season 8 in May 2009 where Lambert joined the band to perform We Are The Champions.

Since then the band and Lambert have repeatedly hinted at a future collaboration, most recently with Queen’s Roger Taylor telling Billboard Magazine “"He (Adam) has grown into a really great performer with an astonishing voice with a range that's great. We would like to work with him again. There's nothing signed just yet but …it could be very exciting."

Lambert, who in the end placed second in AI, has since established a fast-rising career as an emerging rock artist . His solo album “For Your Entertainment” released just after the end of the Idol season debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 in December 2009 and he went on to receive the Young Hollywood Award “Artist of the Year”.

Recently, at the invitation of Brian May and Roger Taylor, Lambert made a second guest appearance with Queen, joining the band for the closing of the MTV Europe Awards where May and Taylor were present to collect the Global Icon Award for Queen.

Their eight minute MTVE set ignited an immediate reaction across the internet with social network sites buzzing with excitement and campaigning for more from Queen and Lambert.

The Moscow Olympic Arena show on June 30, coming a full week ahead of their UK show, will provide the very first opportunity to see what comes out of May, Taylor and Lambert finally getting to fully explore their very evident artistic appreciation of one another.

Says Brian May : “Judging by my incoming mail, this decision will make a lot of people very happy. It's a worthy challenge for us, and I'm sure Adam would meet with Freddie's approval! “

Talking of his forthcoming summer concert appearances with Queen, Lambert says: "The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some great songs. It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of. There's no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie. That's impossible. The way I'm choosing to view it is that it's a great honour and one I'm in no way going to shirk ... Being asked to appear with Queen is the best thing that can possibly happen".

Queen became popular in the mid-'70s and remain one of the most successful bands in the history of rock music. They released 15 studio and 5 live albums as well as numerous compilations. Among them 18 albums ranked #1 in music charts worldwide and the estimated total number or record sales around the world exceeds 300 million.

Since the death of singer Freddie Mercury in 1991 Brian May and Roger Taylor have continued to honour the legacy of Queen by performing alone or with guest vocalists, allowing fans the possibility to hear live such rock classics as Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions, I Want To Break Free, Another One Bites The Dust, Radio Ga Ga and others.

Queen’s music also continues to kept alive and reach new audiences through the world-wide success of the band’s hit musical “We Will Rock You” which has been performed across the world and in May will celebrate an unbroken ten-year run on the same stage in London at the Dominion Theatre.

Queen + Adam Lambert European exclusive first concert appearance: Moscow Olympic Arena, June 30, 2012.

The official ticket agency website: www.19-00.ru +7 (495) 641-19-00. Tickets on sale soon.

The Olympic Arena address: 16, Olympiyski prospekt, Moscow, Russia

Adam Lambert might "wear a helmet" during his Sonisphere set with Queen

Adam Lambert has opened up about his forthcoming live set with Queen at Sonisphere Festival and insists he isn't afraid of the sometimes icy reception acts can be met with at rock and metal events in the UK.

Speaking exclusively to the NME, the 'Whataya Want From Me' powerhouse admits he was surprised to hear that bands in the past have been 'bottled' and joked that he might wear a "helmet" while on stage to be on the safe side:

"Oh great! Well I'll be sure to wear something that protects my helmet. I wear a helmet onstage, maybe that would be a good fashion statement."

He also stressed that he is in no way trying to replace the late Freddie Mercury and only wants to use his own stunning vocal abilities to emulate the stage presence and star power the 'We Will Rock You' legend possessed:

"The way I look at it is I’m not trying to imitate or outdo him or compete in any way, that’s not even in my mind at all, I think it's really an honour to be asked to sing the music that he and the band wrote and get up there and put on a good show. If people are too busy trying to compare, they're not going to enjoy the music."

Addressing recent rumours that suggest Lambert will be joining the iconic rock band on a more permanent basis, he added: "One of the things [people have said] was, 'He's gonna be the permanent frontman of Queen'."

"Although that would be a beautiful experience, the tricky thing this year for me is I also have my album coming out, 'Trespassing', and that's gonna take a lot of work and time and energy. So it's really a one-off experience with the band, and I'm really excited for it. But I'm not joining the band and touring with them."

Tickets for Sonisphere are now on sale and you can watch Lambert's latest video for 'Better Than I Know Myself' here:

Adam Lambert has spoken out about being given the fantastic opportunity to perform a full set as the frontman of iconic rock band Queen later this year.

It was confirmed last night, after months of speculation, that the vocal superstar will reunite with Brian May and Roger Taylor for a one-off gig at the UK's Sonisphere Festival in July and he posted a statement on his official website about the honour of being asked to sing with Queen for a second time:

“I'm completely in awe of the Queen phenomenon. The thought of sharing the stage for a full set is so beautifully surreal. I'm honored to be able to pay my respects to Freddie's memory. He's a personal hero of mine and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band."

"I know the evening will be a huge milestone for me, and with the support of Brian, Roger and the rest of the band I know magic will be on display.”

"Judging by my incoming mail, this decision will make a lot of people very happy. It’s a worthy challenge for us, and I’m sure Adam would meet with Freddie’s approval! And what better place to revisit, and walk those emotional paths than Knebworth? It will be a rush.”

Adam Lambert confirms new album's delay

Vocal sensation Adam Lambert has confirmed that his forthcoming new album's release date has been "pushed back" so that he can perfect the tracks that feature on it.

In a new post on his Twitter page in the early hours of this morning, February 17, the 'For Your Entertainment' star explained that the original date of March 19 no longer applies because he is tweaking the songs and wants to make them "even better":

"Yes, the album release date has been pushed back. Working on some new songs, making the album even better! Thank you all for understanding."

While live on air with Z100 recently, Lambert gave a speculative new date of "Mapril" and confessed that there will several new additions to the already fantastic tracklist, adding that the wait will be more than worth it:

"I know it’s hard, but it’s not finished. It needs to be finished. There are new songs we are doing last minute that are really good. Dr. Luke songs, so they are really good and very radio. It’s all for the best, even though it’s a tough thing to ask to wait. I want the album to be amaze-balls.”

He used the social networking site tonight (February 16) to clarify the nature of the roles that individual members of his team played during the recording process:

Adam Lambert has been busy promoting his forthcoming new album, 'Trespassing', and spoke to Digital Spy for an interview about the record.

The star, who performed a special showcase on February 3 at the Dover Street Arts Club in London, was asked how he has changed since the 2009 release of his debut offering 'For Your Entertainment' and explained that he has more "balance" in his life now and is more comfortable with being in the public eye:

"I'm in a relationship and I think relationships bring a lot of confidence, security and clarity and I feel really good going into this new chapter having that type of balance in my life."

"As a songwriter and as an artist, I have a much stronger sense of what I want to say in my music and who my friends are, and I'm also a lot more comfortable with the whole 'public eye' aspect of things."

The interview, which was made up of questions sent in by fans, also focused on the future of his career and Lambert revealed that he would be very keen to collaborate with British songstress Jessie J if the opportunity arose:

"Hell yeah! I love Jessie J. I think she can sing her face off. She's definitely one of the best singers in pop music right now. She's got mad style, she's so talented. I met her at the EMAs actually with Queen and she was lovely."

Adam Lambert has opened up about his appearance - and revealed why he is looking less 'glam' than he did when he broke into the mainstream.

Lambert often sported a flamboyant look post American Idol but seems to be looking a bit more reserved as he promotes his upcoming album, 'Trespassing'.

And in a video interview with Access Hollywood aired yesterday (February 3), Lambert reckoned the glam look was a defence mechanism after he was thrusted into the limelight. He said:

"I think in a way there was a part of me that was putting all of that on as a slight defence. It's a very shocking thing to go into the mainstream all of a sudden and so fast, on American Idol, and I think it was like my form of protection - 'I'm going to put on as much eyeliner as I can and hide behind that'."

Pressparty were invited last night (February 3) to a special, intimate performance from Lambert in London, where he performed tracks and spoke to the audience - read all about it here.

Adam Lambert is hot on the promotional trail for his forthcoming new album, 'Trespassing', and Pressparty were at his very intimate performance tonight (February 3) to showcase its tracks.

Dressed in a black shirt, black blazer and black trousers, Lambert looked every inch the superstar and his silver rings and dark nail polish gave him the edge that his fans know and love.

After thanking the fans, competition winners and media for attending the exclusive event, the vocal powerhouse launched into a stripped back rendition of 'Fever', from his debut album 'For Your Entertainment'. The sound inside the venue was tailored specifically to Lambert's needs and it worked incredibly well with the versatility and range his voice boasts.

The second song he performed was 'Better Than I Know Myself', for which the official music video was released today, and he used the melodically challenging chorus to show the crowd just what he was capable of. Lambert soared through the track and was accompanied by his talented band, who demonstrated a very close-knit and tight dynamic as musicians.

He was met with rousing applause and transformed the energy of the audience into an emotional silence as he sang 'Outlaws Of Love'. His commanding presence and intensely raw vocals pressed into everyone in the room and really highlighted the poignancy and personal nature of the lyrics.

Following the 2 new songs - including the lead single from 'Trespassing' - he decided to treat the gig-goers and press alike to a popular cut from his first album named 'Whataya Want From Me', which encouraged a fantastic reaction and saw him push his talent to the limit especially where the song's melody was concerned.

The atmosphere inside the Dover Street Arts Club, located in Mayfair, was nothing short of mesmerising and it was injected with an extra dose of electricity when his band began playing the introduction to 'Trespassing', which he wrote with Pharrell Williams. The strong drum beat and hand clapping transferred from the stage to the crowd seamlessly and Lambert pulled it all together with the anthemic sound the track exudes.

After the set, Lambert and his band stayed in the venue to chat with members of the audience and they were all in fantastic spirits after the impressive reception they had been treated to in the capital.

Adam Lambert and Queen's festival reunion is still just a rumour

Adam Lambert's incredible performance with Queen at the 2011 EMAs has inspired an onslaught of unofficial festival rumours as the summer approaches.

The iconic stadium rock band have graced many a stage at outdoor music events over the years and may even appear at one of the UK's alternative festivals in a few months' time.

Recent reports suggest that the 'Whataya Want From Me' star is going to join Queen temporarily as the frontman for a live set at Sonisphere, but Pressparty can confirm that this is still only just a rumour.

This morning, February 3, the Daily Star quoted Lambert as saying: "The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f*****g great songs. It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of.”

The organisers of Sonisphere haven't yet officially added Queen to the line up for 2012 nor has Lambert genuinely given anything away on the possible appearance.

Adam Lambert has premiered the video for his upcoming single, 'Better Than I Know Myself'.

The song is the lead single of his second album ‘Trespassing‘, which is due out on March 19.

Lambert shared behind-the-scenes footage with his 1.3 million followers on Twitter and 2.5 million fans on Facebook, but has now given the public the full cut.

The video shows two Adam Lamberts, one being a clean-cut version hanging out at home, writing in a notebook, listening to music through headphones, whilst his demonic black leather/pvc-clad alter ego is in the very next room.

The alter ego tries to destroy the clean-cut Adam. In the end what appears to be clean-cut Adam walks down the streets but he has one eye of his alter ego (wolf-like yellow, and the other angelic blue). The video was directed by Ray Kay.
