Images of Adam Lambert's 'Trespassing' recording sessions have appeared online.

Guitarist Nile Rodgers worked with Lambert on a new track called 'Shady' and today (April 30) he uploaded some photos from the session on his official website.

Writing about the pictures, Rodgers said:

"A few months ago I played on a funky Adam Lambert track called "Shady." Typically, I photograph what goes on in my daily life after being attacked by aggressive cancer last year."

"Since I can't photograph and play guitar at the same time, my guitar tech Terry shoots when I'm playing. He wanted to be respectful of Adam since it was his first time meeting him, so he took these shots as discreetly as possible. Most of them are being Seen For the First Time."

Adam Lambert has apologised to the LGBT community for making "generalisations".

The vocal powerhouse took to Twitter today (April 26) to admit that he is "still learning" and that he sometimes states his opinions as fact. He tweeted:

"I'm still learning. Sometimes I state my opinions as fact and make generalizations. I apologize to the LGBT community. Great music is the key."

News broke yesterday (April 25) about an interview Lambert gave to Instinct magazine in which he appeared to suggest that the gay community is more receptive to gay female popstars than male ones.

Lambert's tweet engaged discussion on the issue, with one of his followers tweeting to him:

"I agree with what you said. Us gay guys are always in 'competition' with one another, while our girls are royalty."

To which Lambert replied: "Good point."

Adam Lambert has spoken out about being a gay male pop star, suggesting the gay community is sometimes a little "catty" when it comes to celebrating male success.

Speaking to Instinct magazine in a cover interview, Lambert said that he feels the gay community sometimes is a little "resistant" to gay male popstars.

He added that whilst he feels the community is happy to celebrate "strong females", it isn't always the case when it comes to men. He said:

"As a community, we're a little bit resistant to a gay male pop star ourselves. It's very easy for people to look at my origin, which is American Idol, and automatically assume that I’m a commercial sellout or a puppet or a flash in the pan. I don't think I'm any of those things. There's something weird there. We're very eager to celebrate a strong female. But to celebrate a fellow gay man – it gets catty sometimes."

Adam Lambert to show the duality of his personality on new album

Adam Lambert has said that his forthcoming new album 'Trespassing' shows two different sides of his personality.

Speaking to 103.5 KTU, Lambert spoke about the album and explained that it is a game of two halves.

Lambert reckons the first half of the record is more "funk and dance", whilst the second half is more introspective. When asked what the feel of the album is like, Lambert replied:

"It's a bit different from the last album that I put out. It's a lot funkier and more dance orientated than the first one was. There's still that kind of rock star spirit in there, but we definitely went further into the funk, dance jam. The first half of the album or so is really upbeat, really fun and rebellious, a lot of attitude...and then the back half of the album gets slower, a bit more emotional and a bit darker. So I think it's cool that I got to show people two major sides of my personality on this one."

Lambert meanwhile said that he is due to perform on American Idol some time around mid-May.

Queen, who Lambert is fronting for a series of special shows in the summer, have reportedly also been confirmed to play the TV show this week (April 25) - but without Lambert on vocals.

Adam Lambert has admitted that his new album is reflective of the music he grew up listening to and channels the 90s.

The vocal sensation explained to the Daily Star that growing up in the 90s had a huge influence on the styles of music that appeal to him, and he wanted to incorporate his personal tastes and own experiences into 'Trespassing':

"It can’t hurt me that the Nineties are becoming trendy again. I went there because that’s what inherently locked into my musical subconscious, as it’s what I grew up with."

"This album borrows so much from my first pop influences. I was listening to George Michael, Michael Jackson, Queen – I know Queen aren’t Nineties, but that’s when I got into them – and house music."

Speaking about the second single to be taken from the record, 'Never Close Our Eyes', which was written by Bruno Mars, Lambert added:

"There’s a lot of house’s darker atmospheres in the album too. 'Never Close Our Eyes' is a great dance song. It’s a little bit more dance than Bruno usually goes, so it’ll be a fun surprise for people.”

Adam Lambert attended the NewNowNext awards last night (April 5) - and spoke out in praise of legendary singer Sir Elton John, who he met at this year's Oscars (pictured below).

Speaking on the event's red carpet, the vocal powerhouse admitted that the veteran singer has "such a dirty sense of humour" and that it was great to have now met him.

Speaking about meeting Elton, Lambert said: "It was really nice to meet him. He is super down to earth, really kind of dirty sense of humour."

Lambert was also asked about the name of his upcoming album 'Trespassing' and whether he had other possible titles up his sleeve. He replied: "That was the one. Out of all the tracks that I had completed, that was the one that summed up the vibe of the album. The song is kind of a mission statement for me as an artist."

The star also spoke to Maximo.tv about 'Trespassing', stating that he reckons people will like the "fusion" of styles on the album and that it represents a "dichotomy" that people, especially in the gay community, often experience in life. He said:

"I think people are really going to appreciate the fusion of different styles on it, from disco, funk and house music from the past, but we made it new...and then towards the end of the album it gets very vulnerable. I think it sets up the dichotomy that a lot of us deal with, especially in the gay community. We kind of put on our strength and our pride, wear it proudly and march out to the world and do what we want to do and be rebellious - but underneath that sometimes it's not always that strong. Sometimes we have our issues and we're working through things and we have insecurities. I think the album kind of explores both bipolar dimensions of that."
