Adam Lambert on new Queen tour announcement: 'It's a limited thing - a special engagement'

'Trespassing' sensation Adam Lambert has opened up about his tour with Queen, which will kick off later this year, and explained that it's a very special honour.

Speaking to the Rolling Stone about the upcoming North American tour, which was only announced earlier today (March 6), Lambert admitted that he's 'honored' and 'inspired' at the thought of being invited to front the iconic rock band:

"It's beautiful. It is surreal. I feel honored. I feel inspired by it. It's also one of those things where you're going to sink or swim, especially when we were onstage for for the first time in the Ukraine in front of 300,000 people. I was like, "Well, it's now or never. You gotta run with it." It's similar to be in camera with Idol. You go for it."

"I think the thing that's special about this is that it is a limited thing. It's this special engagement. It's not like, "Now we're to the grind." It's a once-in-a-lifetime tour."

When asked if there are any plans to make the jaunt international, Queen guitarist Brian May mused: "Not specifically, no. There is a possible… We might take this a little bit further. There's some good proposals coming our way, but for now we're just concentrating on this."
