Adam Lambert has been 'blown away' by American Idol judging colleagues

Adam Lambert has given his thoughts on his guest judge role on American Idol.

This week the singer - who was a finalist on the show in 2009 - has stepped in for regular judge Keith Urban as he grieves the passing of wife Nicole Kidman's father.

He attended contestant auditions in New York on Tuesday (September 16) and Wednesday (September 17) and he told ET that he has been "blown away" by his colleagues Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr.

Lambert said on Wednesday: "Jennifer is unbelievable. We had this heart-to-heart yesterday about being in the industry. She's so inspiring, warm and sweet. I've been blown away by both of them."

Lopez meanwhile said: "Adam is so fun. It's just a new energy and we're just having a good time. He's such a sweetheart, I love him."
