Adam Lambert teases 'dark' new album: 'I want to encourage people to face their s**t'

Vocal sensation Adam Lambert features on the cover of Notion magazine and in the accompanying interview he opened up about his highly anticipated new album, 'The Original High'.

Speaking to the publication about the record, which is scheduled for release later this spring, the 'Ghost Town' hitmaker admitted that he wanted to go darker this time around and move away from the style his fans are used to hearing from him:

"[The album is] dance-y but bittersweet, and the lyrics are a little darker [than they have been, previously]. I've done the more bubblegum stuff, I've done the camp stuff, and now I want to encourage people to face their shit. I want to show them the part of me that's not all polished or [still part of] the 'pageant on TV' thing – I want it to be real, you know?”

He also spoke about using his vocals differently on this new offering and added: "I think it's just where I'm at. I think one of the things I've been learning is the 'less is more' approach to a lot of things. Less is a little easier."
