Adam Lambert on fans' support: 'They drive me'

Vocal sensation Adam Lambert recently called into DC's 107.3 radio for an interview about his brand new single 'Ghost Town' and how it came to be.

Speaking to Melony Torres yesterday, the powerhouse confessed that he knew it had to be the lead single from his upcoming new album, entitled 'The Original High', because it's such an unusual cut and sets the tone for his new direction:

"First of all, it is different and that's why I insisted this was the first single. I hadn't heard anything like this before either. I worked with Max Martin on the whole album - he just won Producer of the Year at the GRAMMYs... he's such a cool cucumber - he has no ego, none of that stuff. He's so down to earth and just knows. He has a sixth sense about what's going to work."

When asked if he was nervous about sharing the song with his long-time fans, Lambert admitted that he was more excited because he truly believes in this new material and hopes to tour the album:

"If anything I was just anxious - I was anxious to start getting pieces of it out there. I really believe in it and it's one of those songs, I've played it for groups of friends and this was the song that people were just like, 'what is that?!'... in a great way!"

"Yeah, they're (my fans) amazing. This whole adventure in music and everything would not be what it has been without them. They drive it. Hopefully, if people like the album and it performs well, and enough people hear it, we'll be able to go on a tour. That's what I'd love."
