Adam Lambert's 'Ghost Town' beats Madonna namesake on Billboard chart

Adam Lambert has charted higher than Madonna in the Billboard Adult Pop Songs chart.

The list, which is compiled through US radioplay figures, reveals that Lambert's 'Ghost Town' has debuted at No.35.

He has trumped Madonna's similarly named 'Ghosttown', which rests at No.38.

Billboard commented: "Unlike certain eventual ghost towns when it came to sparring gunslingers, the Adult Pop Songs chart is big enough for the both of these like-titled songs (word spacing aside).

"Lambert's (complete with a Wild West-reminiscent whistle for its chorus' hook) is his fifth hit on the chart, while Madonna lands her 19th. The latter single also bounds 6-3 as the Greatest Gainer on Dance Club Songs and ranks at No. 20 on Adult Contemporary."

Lambert's 'Ghost Town' meanwhile will feature on his upcoming album 'The Original High'.

The record will be released in the UK on June 15.
