Adam Lambert: 'Hoping to have lots of singles from this album'

Vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert visited 93.3 Frankie and Geena Mornings in San Diego earlier this week and opened up about his new musical direction.

Speaking to the radio station, the superstar explained that this new era, which will see him release new album 'The Original High', began over a year ago and his goal was to create something fans could connect to:

"It started over a year ago and Max Martin and Shellback executive produced the whole thing. It's darker. I wanted to be honest about stuff, you know? I wanted to help people be honest about their lives... and be like, 'OK, yeah I've been through that, but you know what? I'm not alone. This guy's been through it too.' Then the beat drops and you're like, 'let's dance it out and get over it'!"

Lambert added that he hopes this new record will allow him to release many singles and music videos: "Well, not yet - we haven't planned anything yet. If I have my way, there will be a lot of singles off this album. I'll be going around and sharing them with people and shooting music videos, and performing them on TV if I have my way."
