Adam Lambert inspired by Queen: 'They experimented so much musically'

'Ghost Town' sensation Adam Lambert has revealed that one of the things he loved about touring with Queen was the fact that they defy genres as a band.

Speaking to 93.3 Frankie and Geena Mornings in San Diego this week, the superstar explained that he was influenced by the fact that Queen didn't keep within the 'rock' box and wrote songs that had a much broader appeal:

"I was on the road with Queen all year, it was crazy. The thing that's cool about Queen is that they're basically a pop band. If you look at their hits, they experimented with all different types of music and never stuck to one genre. The bottom line is that a good song is a great song. If you make people feel something, you've got a hit. I think genre and format and all that... it doesn't matter. A good song is a good song."

When asked if he has any tour schedules planned to support and promote his new album, 'The Original High', Lambert responded: "Well, not yet - we haven't planned anything yet. If I have my way, there will be a lot of singles off this album. I'll be going around and sharing them with people and shooting music videos, and performing them on TV if I have my way."
