Adam Lambert on his very own 'original high': 'I'm trying to recreate it'

Superstar Adam Lambert has revealed the concept behind his new album's title during a new interview on VH1.

The record is called 'The Original High' and when asked to describe what an original high means to him, the star explained that it's about trying to get back the feeling you had when you experienced something amazing for the very first time:

"I mean, the adrenaline rush I'm always trying to recreate is the first time you're on stage for something. The first night you're on tour or your first time singing a song... a lot of firsts. The song, 'The Original High', is the second track on the album and it's all about that. Your first kiss, your first love, or the first time you felt amazing about yourself."

He added: "Sometimes we run in circles and try to recreate the past and so the song's kind of bittersweet. It's being nostalgic about something good and trying to recreate it, but not feeling the same when you try."

Speaking to 104.3 MyFM recently, Lambert was asked about the album's title track and sang a line from it. The lyrics he performed were: “I want to feel the rush like the first time.” He then said: “That’s it, that’s all you get. That’s ‘The Original High’… that’s from ‘The Original High’ – the title track. That one’s a killer, get ready for that one.”
