Adam Lambert opens up about the perks and pitfalls of social media

Vocal sensation Adam Lambert has revealed that dealing with criticism and negativity on social media has taught him to brush things of that nature off.

During a new interview with Britain's Telegraph newspaper, the superstar opened up about the perils and perks of social media and confessed that it's definitely a case of taking the good with the bad:

"It’s certainly quite a game. There is a lot going into being an artist right now. I’m lucky, I have a great team of people who help me wrap my head around all of it, and it’s exciting!"

"Social media is an amazing way of getting right to the people, it’s incredible. I like to see what people are saying about things and how they are weighing in on decisions and performances. It is kind of like a research tool that way."

The 'Ghost Town' hitmaker went onto add that dealing with Twitter trolls has helped him to develop a much thicker skin, so at least something good has come out of it:

“You have to not take it personally. I always say somebody that comes online in order to write some trashy thing about somebody usually probably doesn’t have that much going in on their life if that’s what they spend their time doing. That’s what makes me feel better about it, I’m like ‘who the hell is this person?'"
