Vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert has topped Forbes magazine's 'American Idol' rich list for 2015 after banking a total of $10 million (£6.7 million) last year.

Country sensation Carrie Underwood took second place with $8 million (£5.3 million) although she was the No.1 earner from the show in both 2013 and 2014. Daughtry hitmaker Chris Daughtry is at No.3 with $6 million (£4 million) and Phillip Phillips is at No.4 with $5 million (£3.3 million).

Scotty MCCreery and superstar Kelly Clarkson tie at No.5 with $4 million (£2.7 million) each. The fifteenth and final season of 'American Idol' kicked off in the U.S. last night. 

Lambert, meanwhile, recently topped Pressparty's end of year readers' poll and won a total of six of the eight categories including Favourite Male, Most Anticipated Tour of 2016 and Best Musical Act of 2015.
