Adam Lambert to star in TV remake of Rocky Horror Picture Show

Adam Lambert has landed a role in a new TV production of Rocky Horror Picture Show.

The singer will play the part of Eddie in the remake of the 1975 film.

The singer said: "I grew up watching Rocky Horror, but could never imagine that I would be part of this new vision.

"Rocky Horror always made me feel like it was OK to celebrate my weirdness. Hallelujah, bless my soul! I love that old time rock-n-roll!"

The part of Eddie was originally played by Meat Loaf, with the character crashing a party.

Other names taking part in the two-hour Fox special include Victoria Justice and Disney's Ryan McCartan.

The show is expected to air in the autumn of 2016, with High School Musical's Kenny Ortega on directing, executive producing and choreographing duties.

Lambert has previous acting experience on TV through the likes of hit show Glee.

Before turning to music, the US star performed in musical theatre, with Lambert an understudy and ensemble member in Wicked.
