Adam Lambert heading to Perth to rock World Famous Rooftop

Adam Lambert is heading to Perth in Australia to headline hit92.9's first World Famous Rooftop.

Lambert, who was last in town as acting frontman for the rock band Queen, is not performing a proper concert in Perth, so this is the only way for his Western Australian fans to see him live in an intimate setting, where he will play his biggest hits from his latest album, 'The Original High'.

The American singer-songwriter has been marketed as a second-generation glam rocker, even titling his 2010 tour Glam Nation.

Lambert's rise to fame was hatched on American Idol and his debut album was produced with RCA/Sony.

"I went on that show for a chance to become an original artist," says Lambert. He'd auditioned, audaciously, with Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. Then, in the show's finale, he and another contestant were joined by Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor in a rendition of 'We Are The Champions'.

That cemented the band's admiration for him and led to their invitation for Lambert to front a Queen world tour, stepping into the shoes of Freddie Mercury.

The vocal powerhouse also lent his voice recently to a new advert for Oreo.

He has recorded a song for the animated clips, which run at 30 seconds and 15 seconds long.
