Adam Lambert's fans win Pop Crush's Best Fanbase of 2016 title

Music webzine Pop Crush has announced the winners of its March Madness competition and Adam Lambert's fanbase, known collectively as the Glamberts, have scored the Best Fanbase of 2016 prize.

The 'Ghost Town' sensation's fans first went up against the 5SOS Fam and won, then they took on Girls' Generation and won, and then faced off against Beyoncé's Beyhive.

In the final round, the Glamberts went head to head with 1D's Directioners and won - but only just - with 51.3% of the total vote.

Lambert, meanwhile, recently told Las Vegas Weekly about his intentions where his latest album, entitled 'The Original High', is concerned: "I’m such a pop-culture junkie, I like to find out what’s going on, what people are saying, what’s going on in social media."

"There’s a lot of tension out there right now, and even though it’s pop music, I wanted to touch on that. I wanted to sing about stuff that was a bit more serious and a little bit more real. There’s some scary stuff that’s been going on. And yet again, at the same time, we do employ dance music in the album: There’s beats, there’s things to make you move. My hope is that you can find some sort of healing or catharsis with the songs."
