Adam Lambert wants to play Freddie Mercury's lover in biopic

Adam Lambert says he would be keen to play one of Freddie Mercury's lovers in a film about the singer.

A movie about the Queen man has been mooted for some time, with Ben Wishaw lined up to play the iconic frontman.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the US star - who currently sings with Queen - said he would be up for a role in the biopic.

Lambert said: "I'd want to be in bed with Freddie. I think that would be appropriate at this point!

"I don't usually say things on the record, but that's the part I want. I want to be one of his lovers."

He added of the film: "I've had little conversations with [Brian May] about it. I asked about how times have changed as far as being open about somebody's private life.

"And I asked them, 'How are you going to approach that with the story of Freddie?' Back in the '70s and the '80s, it was something you just didn't really talk about.

"Obviously we're in a much different time now, and it's very topical so it'll be really interesting to see how they'll approach that part of his life.

"They haven't quite figured it out yet as the movie is still in development."

Lambert is due to perform with Queen this summer at festivals an open-air gigs across Europe.
