Adam Lambert says TV shows with LGBT characters help with acceptance

'Ghost Town' sensation Adam Lambert has revealed that having shows on television that portray openly gay couples can really help people who might be trying to find the courage to come out because 'Will and Grace' did that for him.

Speaking on camera for the It Got Better project, the hitmaker explained that seeing his parents react to that particular show with warmth and acceptance allowed him to see that they would maybe react in the same way to his own sexuality. He said:

"'Will & Grace' lightened the whole topic up [...] I think being around the TV with my parents on the couch and us all laughing at the same jokes allowed me to kind of feel comfortable with them and made me realise, “This is probably going to be okay with them.”
