Adam Lambert: 'If you don't agree, I'm not going to refrain from being me'

Vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert has stressed the importance of free speech after voicing his disgust with Presidential candidate Donald Trump for using Queen's anthem 'We Are The Champions' at a political event this week.

Yesterday, Lambert told his followers on Twitter that he was upset by Trump's unauthorised use of the song by sharing a picture of iconic Queen frontman Freddie Mercury that featured the caption: "If your political party spends decades treating gay people as second-class citizens, guess what: You don't get to use Freddie Mercury's music at your convention."

The 'Ghost Town' sensation has now hit out at criticism over his post and posted the following message to his official Facebook page this morning (July 20), which explains that if people don't like what he has to say they shouldn't connect with him online:

"I realize that there are many different schools of thought frequented by people following me on social media. EVERYONE is entitled to their opinions and beliefs. Including me. This is MY Facebook page where I share my experiences and feelings. If you don't agree with something, that's perfectly ok with me- but I'm not going to refrain from being me, and no one is forcing you to either."
