Adam Lambert has talked up a speech given by Michelle Obama at this year's Democratic National Convention.

The US political party held its annual event in Philadelphia on Monday (July 25).

Outgoing first lady Michelle Obama gave a 15 minute speech which left some delegates in tears.

It seems Adam Lambert was entranced by Obama's words, with the singer typing on Twitter:

"Wow @FLOTUS speech at the #DNC was so uplifting! Yes!!!"

Michelle Obama and husband Barack will vacate the White House later this year when the politician's eight-year stint as US President comes to an end.
