Adam Lambert says he worked "so hard" on new album

Adam Lambert has said that he worked "so hard" on his new album 'Trespassing'.

The vocal powerhouse released the album in the US and Canada earlier this month and it shot straight to the top of the US charts.

Speaking to eTalk, Lambert said that he put a lot of work into the album and that he set himself high standards. He said:

"I worked so hard on this album and I had a lot of pressure that I put on myself. I was like, 'It has to be perfect."

The singer meanwhile in the process became the first openly gay artist to notch a No.1 album in the US, and Lambert believes the tide could be turning in the country. He said:

"I think kinda what it proves is that maybe we're coming up on a time where maybe it doesn't really matter. At the end of the day we're all kind of the same. We're all human."
