GLAAD launches contest to see Adam Lambert receive his prize at the 2013 Awards

Earlier this year it was announced that vocal powerhouse Adam Lambert was the 2013 recipient of the Davidson/Valentini GLAAD Award and the organisation is now offering one lucky fan the chance to be at the ceremony.

The competition was announced via GLAAD's official Twitter page last night (May 2) and followers can enter here by making a donation to the cause. $10 will get fans one entry to the contest, $25 will allow three entries and $45 is the cost of six.

A message on the site explains: "One lucky winner and a guest will receive the ultimate VIP treatment at the GLAAD Media Awards. The winner and a guest will be flown to San Francisco for a two night stay in one of the city's finest hotels. Once at the GLAAD Media Awards, the winner will walk the red carpet, attend a celebrity VIP reception, and get to see Adam Lambert accept the Davidson/Valentini Award."

The winner will be chosen and revealed on May 8 ahead of the ceremony, which is due to take place on May 11 at the Hilton San Francisco in Union Square.

The award that will be given to the 'Trespassing' superstar is "presented to an out LGBT media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equality for the LGBT community" and GLAAD "amplifies the voice of the LGBT community by empowering real people to share their stories, holding the media accountable for the words and images they present, and helping grassroots organizations communicate effectively."

GLAAD also ensures "that the stories of LGBT people are heard through the media," and "promotes understanding, increases acceptance, and advances equality."
