Adele's '21' becomes first album ever to sell 3 million digital copies

British songstress Adele has reached yet another incredible milestone with her last album, '21'.

The record, which was initially released back in 2011, has now become the first ever full-length release to shift over 3 million copies digitally. Nielsen SoundScan confirmed the exciting news to Rolling Stone earlier this week.

Back in December, Amazon announced that '21' was its best-selling album of all time and in 2012, it became the 21st album to exceed sales of 10 million, reaching Diamond certification in just 91 weeks.

At the end of last year, Adele was given an MBE by Prince Charles for her continued services to music and told press that it was such an honour: "It was an honour to be recognised and a very proud moment to be awarded alongside such wonderful and inspirational people. Very posh indeed."
