Adele reveals her feelings and fear of fame: 'It's really toxic'

Adele has spoken about her feelings towards fame and why she wants to avoid over-exposure.

During a front cover interview with Rolling Stone, the ‘Hello’ record-setter addressed her aversion to partaking in the celebrity lifestyle and revealed she has been deeply affected by the public demise of Amy Winehouse.

Adele explained: “People think I hate being famous. And I don't. I'm really frightened of it. I think it's really toxic, and I think it's really easy to be dragged into it.”

She went on: “Watching Amy deteriorate is one of the reasons I'm a bit frightened. We were all very entertained by her being a mess. I was f**king sad about it, but if someone showed me a picture of her looking bad, I'd look at it. If we hadn't looked, then they'd have stopped taking her picture. That level of attention is really frightening, especially if you don't live around all that showbiz stuff.”

Adele is predicted to remain at the top of the UK singles chart for a second consecutive week with her comeback single ‘Hello’.
