Adele's '25' becomes fastest selling album in US chart history

Adele's latest album has broken an all-time US chart record.

The singer released her third effort '25' on November 20 and it quickly became the fastest selling album ever in the UK.

That success has now been replicated across the pond, with the album shifting 3.38 million units in the US in its first week.

It only took three days for '25' to break the previous record-holder N'Sync, whose 2001 collection 'No Strings Attached' sold 2.416 million copies in its first seven days.

The album follows up Adele's smash hit record '21', which was released in 2011.

The Brit recently confirmed a series of European arena tour dates.

The live run will include a batch of UK shows in February and March.
