Adele says Kate Bush's live shows inspired her comeback

Adele has revealed that Kate Bush’s return to the public eye last year encouraged her to release her new music.

Kate Bush gave her first live performances in over 35 years back in August 2014 at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.

Adele attended one of Bush’s ‘Before The Dawn’ shows and was inspired by the role Kate’s son played in helping her return to the stage.

The ‘25’ star told the New York Times: “I read somewhere, and I don’t know if it’s true or not, that [her son] said when he was 16, ‘I want to know now why everyone loves you.’ And it makes me so emotional.”

She added: “After that show, it was: ‘I don’t want to wait. I don’t want to wait till my kid is 16, I want to show him now.’”

Although Adele is set to embark on a European arena tour in 2016 – her first tour dates since 2011 – she has revealed her fears about loneliness while on the road.

The ‘Hello’ singer disclosed: “Performing to that many people for every night, for that long, I find something very lonely about it…  I’m going to have my family with me, but the thought of how lonely that could be frightens me more than the load of doing a worldwide tour.”

Pre-sale tickets for Adele’s arena dates went on sale yesterday (December 1) but some fans complained about apparent data security breaches.

General sale tickets will be available on December 4.
