Adele and Ed Sheeran make the Sunday Times Rich List

'Hello' sensation Adele has secured her place on the Sunday Times Rich list as the wealthiest ever British female musician

The full list will be unveiled this coming weekend, but Adele's personal wealth of £85 million, which is an increase of £35 million on last year, has put her in 30th place overall.

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is in 49th place with £45 million, and the list has been topped by Sir Paul McCartney, whose fortune is estimated at £760 million.

Ian Coxon, editor of the Sunday Times Rich List, explained that Adele's youth means that she is likely to make an even bigger impact in the future where these lists are concerned: “Adele is only 27 so I would see her getting in the main list of the richest 1,000 in a couple of years - she is only £15 to £20m away now."

Ed Sheeran, who is currently enjoying some time off from music and the spotlight, has contributed a hand-drawn picture to an auction put on by Art for Cure's Make Your Mark that will help raise money for the fight against breast cancer.
