This year's Billboard Music Awards is set to be an incredible event and the nominees have now been revealed.

'Hello' sensation Adele has been nominated for an impressive 8 awards and she is now in the running for the Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top 200 Billboard Album, Top Hot 100 Song, Top Selling Song, and Top Radio Song prizes.  

One Direction, meanwhile, have been nominated in the Top Duo/Group and Top Touring Artist categories. Demi Lovato is up for Top Social Media Artist and Ed Sheeran will fight for the Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, and Top Radio Songs Artist titles.

The 2016 Billboard Music Awards will take place on May 22 in Las Vegas and performers include Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, DNCE, Fifth Harmony, The Go-Go’s, Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes, Pink, Britney Spears, and Troye Sivan. Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato, and Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have also been confirmed to perform duets on the night.
