Adele's uncontrollable nerves

Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Adele has revealed that despite her levels of international acclaim she is still plagued by crippling nerves when she gets onstage.

Opening up in an interview with today's Observer newspaper, she explained that her mouth takes over and she finds it hard to regain control:

"I get so nervous on stage I can't help but talk. I try. I try telling my brain: stop sending words to the mouth. But I get nervous and turn into my grandma. Behind the eyes it's pure fear. I find it difficult to believe I'm going to be able to deliver."

She also addressed her BRITs performance that went on to earn her four consecutive weeks at the top of the UK singles chart with 'Someone Like You', and confessed that she anticipated the worst:

"Shat myself,"

"I was on in between Take That and Rihanna, the biggest productions of the night. All day I was thinking, this is gonna be a disaster."
