Adele breaks U.S chart record with 'Someone Like You'

Adele has broken yet another record with her smash hit single, 'Someone Like You'.

The vocal powerhouse is now celebrating the biggest Billboard Hot 100 chart climb in its 53-year history for a non-new release after it shot up 18 places to No.1 last week.

Nielsen SoundScan revealed that Adele shifted a fantastic 275,000 downloads following her performance of the track at MTV's VMAs on August 28 and the song's sudden surge in popularity propelled it to the top of the chart once again.

Despite this impressive feat, Kelly Clarkson still holds the record for the all-time greatest climb on the Billboard Hot 100 after 'My Life Would Suck Without You' rose an incredible 96 places in its second week.
