Adele's 21 spends 21st week at top of album chart

Adele’s 21 has returned to the top spot on an album chart dominated by BRIT Awards winners and performers.

The Best British Album sold its four millionth copy in the UK this week to land an incredible 21st week at number one, coincidentally also the same number of weeks it has sat atop the Billboard charts.

The 2011 release managed to fend off stiff competition from last week’s chart-topper, Emeli Sande’s 'Our Version Of Events,' Ed Sheeran’s '+' and Lana Del Rey’s 'Born To Die,' artists who all received awards at Tuesday's ceremony.

Gotye, currently flying high in the singles chart with 'Somebody That I Used To Know,' was the only non BRIT-related act inside the Top Five, with his third LP, Making Mirrors.
