Adele hoping to release new song this year

Adele is hoping to release a new track by the end of the year.

The singer enjoyed a massively successful 2011, with her album '21' topping charts and breaking new records with almost alarming regularity.

Speaking to radio station NFJ, Adele said that she is looking to build on her success with a new song, which she hopes to release later this year. She said:

"There will be a new song, probably coming out at the end of the year. But then it depends how quickly I write some other new songs."

However, anyone hoping for a quick follow up to '21' looks set to be disappointed. When asked about a possible new album, Adele said: "It won't be for a good two years."

The singing star however added that she isn't really feeling the pressure of making her next album as big as her last one - because she thinks what happened with '21' is "very rare".
