	  <title><![CDATA[Adele reigns supreme in Britain's most popular act poll]]></title>
	  <description><![CDATA[<p><a href="/pg/newsdesk/adele" target="_blank">Adele</a> has topped a poll to find Britain's most popular act.</p>
<p>According to the Belfast Telegraph, some 730,000 people named Adele as their number one artist.</p>
<p>The research, which was conducted by ticketers StubHub, says that Britons spent about &pound;36m on buying Adele concert tickets and merchandise between 2011 and 2012.</p>
<p>However, <a href="/pg/newsdesk/takethat" target="_blank">Take That</a> fans spent &pound;40m towards their band over the same period.</p>
<p>Glasgow and Liverpool meanwhile were found to have the most dedicated fans, with 30% and 27% respectively of people in the cities saying they spent most of their money on their favourite music acts or sports team.</p>
