Australian singer Gabriella Cilmi has announced that her new single will be a double A-side of 'Defender' and 'Magic Carpet Ride'.

'Defender' is the third song taken from her album 'Ten', which peaked at number 28 on the UK album chart.

Discussing the video for the track, Cilmi said, "I'd love to do a video for that song in a battlefield - nice and dramatic!"

Brand new song 'Magic Carpet Ride' is the the title track from the new movie 'Soul Boy' - a 1970s drama about the Northern soul underground music scene.

'Defender/Magic Carpet Ride' are scheduled to be released on August 22.
