Noel Fielding stages art exhibition

The Mighty Boosh's Noel Fielding opened his latest solo art exhibition Bryan Ferry vs The Jelly Fox over the weekend at London's oldest cake shop, Maison Bertaux Gallery.

"It's a tiny weird place, it's like an old auntie's attic," explained Fielding about the venue. "I wanted it to be a fun thing, so people could come to it, have a look and eat cakes and hang around for a bit, like a youth club. Rather than having lots of arty people wandering around and leaving after five minutes."

He explained that the Jelly Foxpart of the exhibition was inspired by a cartoon television series he is currently developing, while the exhibition also boasts a "Church Of Ferry", entirely devoted to drawings of Roxy Music's Bryan Ferry.

Guests included cast members from The Mighty Boosh, The It Crowd, The Charlatans' Tim Burgess and Pixie Geldolf for the evening viewing.

"I'm a bit like a mental patient - I just draw everything anyway, so I've always got loads of stuff kicking around and I can't keep it all. Once I've done it I don't want to see it again, so I usually keep it under my bed," Fielding commented about his drawings.

The exhibition runs until January 5.
