Jess Glynne scores her first solo No. 1

The singer-songwriter goes straight in at the top of the Official Singles Chart with 'Hold My Hand'.

'Hold My Hand' is Jess Glynne’s third chart-topping single, following her previous No. 1s with features on Clean Bandit’s million-selling 'Rather Be', the most streamed track of 2014, and Route 94’s 'My Love'.

She said: “As amazing as the other two felt, the feeling I have with this is on another level.

To get a Number 1 in my own name is one of the most insane feelings.”

With chart sales of over 97,000, Jess finished 40,000 ahead of nearest rival James Bay, whose 'Hold Back The River' climbs to a new peak of No. 2.

Former No.1 from Years & Years, King, falls a place to No.3, while at No.4, Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney spend a ninth consecutive week in the Top 5. FourFive Seconds is also the most streamed track of the week, notching up over 1.8 million listens.

Another former chart-topper is at No.5, with Ellie Goulding’s 'Love Me Like You Do', from the Fifty Shades Of Grey, spending an eighth week in The Top 5.

Last week’s No.1, Lay Me Down from Sam Smith and John Legend, is at No. 6 this week.

It’s a third UK Top 40 for Sigma and a seventh for Labrinth – the pair team up for Higher, new at No. 12.

Despite a surprise release late Thursday, Rihanna’s latest single already makes an impact. 'Bitch Better Have My Money' is new at No. 29 after just two days on sale.

British rapper and YouTuber KSI makes his Top 40 with Lamborghini FT P Money at No. 30.
