Wiz Khalifa claims fastest-selling single of 2015 so far with See You Again

Wiz Khalifa has scored the fastest-selling single of 2015 so far with 'See You Again'.

The Charlie Puth-assisted track climbs 21 places this week with combined chart sales of 193,000, overtaking previous fastest-seller 'Love Me Like You Do' by Ellie Goulding (172,000 chart sales). The song marks Khalifa’s second appearance at the top of the Official Singles Chart after reaching the summit back in 2012 guesting on Maroon 5’s 'Payphone'.

'See You Again' also sets a new streaming record, racking up 3.68 million streams in seven days. The figure smashes past Goulding’s 'Love Me Like You Do', which previously held the record with 2.58 million streams.

The song features on the soundtrack to Furious 7 and pays tribute to cast member Paul Walker, who passed away during the filming of the blockbuster in November 2013. The movie has grossed $1 billion in just 17 days.

Climbing 25 places to No.2 this week is OMI’s 'Cheerleader'. The Felix Jaehn remix of the song was rush-released due to popular demand and also claims massive streaming numbers this week, totalling 2.63 million.

Meanwhile, last week’s No.1 'Hold My Hand' by Jess Glynne slips to No.3, Spanish house DJ Dr Kucho!’s Gregor Salto collaboration 'Can’t Stop Playing' FT Ane Brun is this week’s highest new entry and No.4, and Years & Years’ 'King' completes the Top 5.

Grime musician Lethal Bizzle claims this week’s second-highest new entry at No.11 with 'Fester Skank'. The track joins last year’s 'Rariworkout' and 2005’s 'Pow' as the highest-charting single of his career.

Elsewhere, Major Lazer FT MO’s 'Lean On' leaps 11 places to No.13, Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Hudson’s 'Trouble' enters the Top 40 at No.21, and Kodaline score their fourth Top 40 hit with 'The One' at No.27.
