Perry's LP sales causing concern

Sales of Katy Perry's new album, 'Teenage Dream', have reportedly caused concern for music executives.

Despite impressive first-week sales of 192,000 in the States, industry insiders have admitted that the LP failed to match its projected sales of 400,000.

The shortfall is now said to be forecasting the overall decline in album sales worldwide.

SoundScan reports that Perry's sales for the album's entire campaign totals 5 million, 3.6 million of which is accounted for sales of the first single, 'California Girls'.

'Teeage Dream' has so far topped the album charts in five countries.
