Metallica release DVD “The Big Four Live from Sofia” (release date change) and appear on Ray Davies album

The “Big Four”, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax, shared a stage for the very first time on June 22nd 2010 in Sofia, Bulgaria.  The show was beamed live to 79 UK cinemas via satellite in a special HD cinematic event. On November 1st  this legendary concert will be available on DVD through Universal/Vertigo.   “The Big Four Live From Sofia” includes full shows from all four bands on a two disc set as well as behind the scenes and interview footage.  You can watch trailer below.

Metallica are currently in Japan, before starting the first leg of their Australian/New Zealand tour. They head back there in November, which will be the last dates in the band’s  2 year World Magnetic tour during which they have travelled 300 million miles, sold  2.3 million tickets,  played a total of 212 shows in 153 cities. 

After playing with  Ray Davies at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary concert in New York  last year, the band have now recorded a song with him to appear on the  album “See My Friends” due for release in November.  They play their version of “You Really Got Me."
